We are proud to offer a sustainable solution to used cooking oil disposal. We purify the oil in our state-of-the-art processing plant. Our purified oil is federally inspected by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and approved for use as a high-quality feed ingredient in poultry and livestock feeds. This regenerative process not only provides a sustainable feed source, but also helps reduce costs in the agri-food industry.
Nothing goes to waste—any solid material removed during purification is composted at our facility and turned into nutrient-rich soil.

We make every attempt to service most communities within 2-3 weeks of providing us notice. Some more remote communities can expect to receive service every 4-6 weeks. We are currently in testing phases for a state-of-the art sensor system which shows us in ‘real time' how full your container is, and automates the dispatching to ensure you are serviced in a timely manner.
-
Our business model allows us to provide our services free of charge, including an appropriate on-site storage container. Maintenance and adherence to city by-laws are the responsibility of the customer.

Unfortunately, spills occasionally happen. They can occur at our end if we experience a mechanical malfunction or if the container is overfilled and spills during tipping. Sometimes oil may escape and leak from the hose. Our drivers carry an emergency oil clean up kit and will clean up any small spills on the spot. Should a major spill occur, we will work with our customer to ensure that the area is professionally cleaned at our expense.
Should the spill be due to something at the customer’s end (bin damage, overfilling, missing the bin opening), then you would be responsible for the clean-up cost.
-
As we provide the containers free of charge, it is the customer’s responsibility to maintain the cleanliness of their container as well as the surrounding area to provide a safe work environment for our staff. We suggest that professional cleaning is scheduled a minimum of twice per year. This will significantly contribute to the life of the container reducing the risk of leaks.
Access is very important as our drivers may need to service you outside of your business hours. Customers must ensure that no parking is permitted around the container and other disposal containers are not in the way of our access to the container.
It is the customer’s responsibility to adhere to all city by-laws and any fines incurred are the responsibility of the customer.
Because all the oil we collect goes into the food chain and many containers are emptied by a suction hose, it is critical that ONLY used fryer oil goes into the containers. We strictly prohibit any grease trap contents, motor oil of any kind, grill scrapings and plate waste. Filtering the solids from your oil before disposing into our storage container will reduce the amount of solids that can accumulate in the bottom of your container which over time will take up space that you may need to store your oil.

If you require additional storage or your existing container is leaking, simply email customer service at customercare@mcleodsbyproducts.ca with a request for additional storage. If you have a leaking container, please provide detailed photos of the leak as well as a short description of the damage.
-
We kindly request that you submit a pick-up request when your container reaches no more than 70% capacity (50% in remote communities) via www.mcleodsservice.ca or our website www.mcleodsbp.ca . Our Service Request Form prioritizes you for the next pick-up in your area and requires no login. It is easily accessible via computer or cell phone, ensuring a seamless experience in just moments. In addition, you will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours for your added assurance.
If you are concerned that your service request may have been missed, you can contact Customer Care at (250)308-9081 and a helpful customer service agent will check on the status of your request for you.

We are not currently providing Grease Trap services; however, we are investigating the feasibility of including this in our list of services we provide. If you are interested in us providing this service for you in the future, it would be appreciated if you participated in our survey by emailing customercare@mcleodsbyproducts.ca

McLeods By-Products began operating in the 1970s. At that time, we did accept and process dead livestock. Since then, we have transitioned to a sustainable disposal service of used cooking oil (UCO) so we no longer offer that service.
